Blog Dare Post...

The Blog Dare on Bloggy Moms

Blog Dare Prompt:

I was young...

I was young when I moved out of home, not by choice. I was placed in foster care at the age of 10.  I spent from age 10 -18 in the system.  For a few years, I did struggle with being different to the other kids my age, they had 2 parents at home, while I was living with my aunt and didn't always see my mum (due to mental health issues) and my father hadn't been on the scene since I was an infant.

For a while I hated both my parents, yes hated them. I hated that they were not there for me. That I was alone and left to make sense of the world on my own.

I moved into a unit on my own just before my 18th birthday,  I had spent my teen years knowing my mum was often attempting suicide, to me it was the norm to explain where my mum was.  I have come to realise that despite my childhood & teen years I have turned out pretty darn awesome. I am very independent .

Blog dare post #1

The Blog Dare on Bloggy Moms

Prompt: They try to make it sound...

They try to make having a large family crazy, insane, something that can't possible be normal. But it's my reality. It is loud at times, it is crazy at times. But there is a calm amid the chaos.  Some view large families as a negative thing. I have heard it all " get a hobby "  "get a Tv",  as comments on how many children we have. We have 4 lovely sons.

Which brings me to my next point, I have heard so many comments on  "Will; you try for a girl?"  That sort of stuff can be annoying.  Last time I checked you can not order the gender of your child at the drive thru. So I will be content with a healthy child regardless of gender, thank you.

They try to make it sound like it is impossible to  study and raise a family, well I am studying right now. I am finishing off my Certificate IV in Business Sales, and in august I will be starting a bachelor degree.  It comes down to Time management Skills.

Like the old saying says:

Anything is possible if you can dream it.

bloggers boogie :: how embarrasment

Here are 5 songs from my teen years that I loved...

yes I was a Hanson fan.... I was about 14 when I decided I didn't like them anymore.

I once sang this in a choir...

I didn't discover Cake until I was about 15, and I still think they are awesome at the ripe age of 27. One of the coolest songs from my high school days.

project: Organisation

This could be me, haha

Excuse this House
Author: Unknown

Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there
Ours boasts of it quite openly
The signs are everywhere

For smears are on the windows
Little smudges on the doors
I should apologise I guess for
The toys strewn on the floor

But, I sat down with the children
And we played and laughed and read
And if the doorbell doesn't shine
Their eyes will instead

For when at times I am forced to choose
the one job or the other
I want to be a house wife but
FIRST I'll be a mother

So I have decided to embark on a mission to organise myself and my house. (and the boys too ) I have been going nuts on pinterest with searching for ideas, yes that is what I do late at night while feeding a 10 month old who is sick... I sit on pinterest.  I also have been blog stalking a few blogs written by amazingly organized mothers of large families.

So far here are some Ideas I love and plan to start in my home:

Sock hanger - great Idea for those who seem to never know where there ties, socks, or belts are in the mornings.

Pj bag-   This is a brillant idea i have no idea why I never considered it earlier

Homework Nook - We have a cupboard that stores all the supplies etc i Just need a few more things for it and it is finished.

Child's Homework message center -  I love the look of this.

A lunchbox planner- Free printable that I plan to laminate and hang on the fridge, so I can see it at a glance.
